He is currently the Deputy Director of the Institute of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the Rambam Medical Center, and part time senior internist at the Emergency Medicine Department.
Dr. Daoud¡¯s main research interests are insulin-resistant states, type-2 diabetes mellitus and obesity. He also specializes in the euglycemic hyperinsulinemic clamp technique. Other interests include ethnic differences in the prevalence of obesity and diabetes mellitus, the patho-physiological implications of transfer to non-indigenous lifestyles, health education, and patient-centered care.
Dr. Daoud is co-author of "The Comprehensive Guide to Diabetes Mellitus" aimed at educating the Arab population on diabetes mellitus. He has invented a data entry to small devices (PDA¡¯s), and an ergonomic keyboard (patented). |
